“I’ll Work with You – When You Give Me Something to Work With…”

“I’ll Work with You – When You Give Me Something to Work With…”

I must say that I initially thought this a very strange thought, but I earnestly believe the Holy Spirit was speaking to me and confirming my part in this journey of life.

Let me be honest and put it in the context of when this thought occurred. I had just gotten off the scale which revealed that I had lost almost 3 pounds and I knew it was because I was diligent in my exercise and was changing my eating habits to what I knew was healthy.

This brought my mind to one of my favorite verses found in Psalm 138:8   The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.”

Forsake NOT the work of thine own hand…Robin – you have to do your part. The ‘perfecting’ comes from Me saith the Lord but you have to give me something to work with …. I couldn’t keep asking the Lord to help me win this battle of weight loss and not begin to exercise. I couldn’t keep praying for strength to eat healthy and still bring food into the house that I knew was not good.

This statement of “give me something to work with….has resonated in mind and spirit.  God has not created robots. He has given us free will and it must be our decision to be obedient.

“Lord, you know this has been a lifelong battle for me – perhaps one that I’ve allowed to be ‘lifelong’ but this time I am going to continually give YOU something to work with….Let me do my part in this new transformation that will occur. Your perfecting power will come at times when I need encouragement and restored hope therefore I’ll give YOU something to work with…  Amen and Amen.

So, my question to you is:

“What have You given HIM to work with?”

  1. WOW. AUNTIE THANKS FOR SHARING.❤
While reflecting on Peter waking on water, this scripture dropped in my spirit this morning .
    🔥🔥🔥
I have to admit sometimes I’m too afraid to branch out. I see God, I hear God, but I want Him to come get me or make the process easier.. Even though I know better, for several reasons that are more about people, places, and or things than t’s about pleasing God.

Thank you for giving me something to ponder on as always.

    Love Nicey 💞

  2. Dr. Eubanks,
    “Congratulations” on your weight loss!
“What have I given GOD to work with” is such a thought provoking question that can be applied to just about every area of my life. Thank you for sharing this word. Love Charlene

    1. You are right….this question can apply to so many areas of our life. Are we giving God ‘something’ to work with?

  3. I thank God for your endurance and perseverance this helped me tremendously because we are always comparing ourselves to others which can cause us to feel like we don’t are unable to give God something when we look as though we a little or nothing in comparison. So thank you it gave me a different perspective

  4. That is real talk Dr Eubanks! That was a mouthful!! I have been on this battlefield forever it seems and everything you stated is truth! Thanks for sharing your truth! It is inspiring💜
