It has been stated that we as believers need to nail some things to the cross (e.g. pride, self-will, anger, unforgiveness, greed, addictions, etc.) However, when I thought more about this, an insight came to me this morning – once we nail things to the cross, we need to TURN OVER THE HAMMER to the Holy Spirit.
It was shown to me that if we keep our hands on the hammer; we could be tempted to turn it around and use the other end. The other side of the hammer can pullthe nails back out. If tempted to return to whatever we nailed to the cross; we can simply turn the hammer around and pull it back out.
Dear brothers and sisters, when things have been nailed to the cross – hand the hammer over to the Holy Spirt– He will give it back when needed!

Love it! Help me “OH GOD!“ to give you back the hammer, when I am done nailing it on the cross. Amen
I am so grateful for the cross, knowing what it symbolizes. I truly can’t take that risk, of taking back that hammer. I am depending on his strength, because I certainly cannot do anything without Him.
My eyes are fixed to the Cross from whence commeth my strength.

That is so true !
I’m handing it back! Thanks for the analogy!
