“When Was The Last Time You Cleaned Your Net?”

“When Was The Last Time You Cleaned Your Net?”

I posted earlier about “casting our nets” and this whole concept regarding net casting has continually moved me to “plunge” into the deep of its meaning and its application to our everyday lives.

I’m discovering that this study of net casting has several components that need be examined and one of them being the importance of net cleaning. This can be a tedious task but is crucial to do after every casting. Know that after any casting – we’re going to pull in “useless debris” that gets interwoven in the cracks and corners.

For us, it may be time to identify and expose any “useless debris”, “any junk” or “any useless nonsense” that may be in our hearts and minds that has accumulated over time. Know that if our spiritual or emotional nets are not cleaned they will begin to decay and even begin to smell, perhaps even attract the “spiritual rats” that have no good intent and will eat a hole in your spiritual nets.

Does this not sound like Satan himself? Chewing at the net we didn’t clean; resulting in a huge hole that will not be able to grab the blessings that were coming our way.

We are in a time when we’re bombarded with information constantly. Our spiritual and emotional “nets” can be full of stuff – the key question is: “When is the last time you cleaned your net?

This is the time to examine our conscience, go through our soul and find out if there’s things there that are wasting our time – have we been “absorbed” with stuff? Has this stuff taken control over our thinking and behavior? What’s getting in our way and keeping us from “catching the blessings” or “casting out to the deep”? It’s time to take an inventory of our souls.

If done earnestly, I believe it’s during this time that the Holy Spirit visits us and gives us the power to clean our “nets” and can expose some “stuff” that we had no idea had accumulated into stifling debris.

It’s time to clean our nets….are you brave enough to go through the wash?
