Miracle in the Mist of the Mess

Miracle in the Mist of the Mess

Hello everyone, it has been quite some time since I have posted but I must share a brief testimony that I hope can be encouraging to someone. We are in a challenging time right now and many of us are experiencing the “ripple” impact of this pandemic.

One challenge I had to experience was needing to interact with the Department of Motor Vehicle. After two failed attempts to be seen, I decided to come earlier than previous attempts and began to wait in-line at 6 am with the hopes of obtaining a ticket to be seen.

When I arrived, the line was already around the building, but I began with a prayer asking God’s favor to intercede for me. After 2 hours, the line began to move forward resulting in people getting a ticket number. As I grew closer, I could see the possibility of not receiving  a ticket to enter the gated waiting area…I began to pray again and this was the beginning of my miracle in the mist of the mess”.

Sure enough, I was handed ticket #180 which was told to be the last ticket to be given out that day!  Initially, I thanked God for His favor and was content to know that I would be seen.  However, as time moved forward, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, and the fact that it began to rain heavily – I began to question my circumstance.

Lord, was this for me to do? Will this work out? Was it your will for me to get the last ticket? Will they change the process of who is to be seen?

This is where I knew to pray as the LORD has taught me years ago – “Father, use this circumstance to teach me lessons; help me demonstrate faith in YOU and your WORD.” I began to think of the importance of not giving up or giving in to circumstances that I have no control over – but God does.

The LORD was saying to me “How bad do you want this – daughter?” Psalms 138:8 came to mind that the LORD would perfect all that concerns me BUT forsake not the works of thy own hands. I had to do my part – I had to get up early, I had to wait in line, I needed to come prepared with a chair, umbrella, cell-phone, books to read, etc. – when I did all that I could do – the LORD began to impact the circumstance.

The LORD was teaching me NOT TO QUIT – DON’T GIVE UP!  Things may not go the way I thought it should and if I had known that I would be waiting for a total of 9-hours – I would not have gone.

There will be times when we must step out on faith but more importantly, we often have to sustain that faith even when what we see with the natural eye – can be overwhelming – we must trust HIM and believe HE always has our best interest in mind.

Well, I was able to receive my renewed identification. Lord, thank you for the lessons, may I continue to grow in my faith and full dependency on YOU.

LORD, you can and will work miracles even in the mist of mess”.

    1. GIVING UP is NOT our option! We may have to shift, change, slow down, turn around, or perhaps stand still – but quitting, is NOT an option. (smile)
