“When’s the Last Time You Experienced …Suddenly?

There was a powerful word this morning on the prayer line shared by Pastor Alexis Johnson that charged us to experience a “suddenly” today. He was sharing an awesome testimony describing his “suddenly” experiences of when he turned his life over to the Lord and when he was baptized. He experienced the “suddenly” of the Holy Spirit’s presence in his life – that would change him forever. It’s amazing how everything can seem different….suddenly.
When was the last time you experienced a suddenly? A sudden shift in your view of something; suddenly you knew it was time to leave that job; suddenly you knew it was time to speak to that circumstance; suddenly you knew you couldn’t stay where you were….you couldn’t keep doing what you were doing. Suddenly you know it’s time to start something new and the meaning of Isaiah 43:19 comes to life unlike never before (e.g. “Behold I will do a new thing…saith the Lord). Suddenly the newness shifted by God’s power will be unlike any other suddenly you will ever experience.
There may also be times that you can suddenly feel like giving up…just quitting, not trying anymore – this is the time when the Holy Spirit can suddenly turn that around with a sense of hope…if you let Him. It can even seem like your life was turned upside down – but suddenly you have a revelation that it’s now going in the right direction.
When was the last time you had an “ah-hah” moment that suddenly something was made clear…you now know that things can change in an instant. Suddenly everything fell into place….suddenly itself – is very powerful, it’s not to be taken lightly. It’s often life changing but let’s not be afraid of suddenly…there are times when we need to allow suddenly to take the reins of our thinking and doing. I’ll end with this quote
–
”Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly
you are doing the impossible.”
