“Until God Opens The Next Door…”

“Until God Opens The Next Door…”

As I am preparing for a message to preach Sunday, I came across an interesting statement that said “Until God opens the next door for you, praise Him in the hallway”.

Wow…that really made me think about want to do in the ‘in between’ moments.  What do we do in our “hallway” in-between time? How do we keep praising when the hallway seems to get longer? Have we lost sight of that door we use to see some time ago? There were times that I saw the next door with a shining knob ready to be grasp but as time moved on, the shininess seem to lose its glow. I seem to get further away from the entrance. Have I moved or has God moved the door? Is this all part of the process so that God can build my faith and develop my resilience?

Know that the enemy loves to take advantage of this “hallway” experience. He wants to totally take our view off the next door. He wants us to turn our view on our circumstances with the mindset that things will never change. He wants to control our perspective to another direction while placing holes in the pathway that we’re not even aware of.

But praise be to the God that I know – He is in control. He is the one that will bring me through the hallway experience – no matter how long. It’s these times of “in-between” that help us grow. Your “in-between” may be like a wilderness experience but know that because you’re in a wilderness does not mean you’re lost! Perhaps God has established a testing time unlike any other but He is always with you.

Remember, that your in-between place, your hallway, is not the final destination.

“Lord, re-open our eyes if need be, help us see that next door again. Take the “spiritual” cataracts off our eyes that have tried to blind us of hope and make us stagnant to move forward. Help us actually see that we’re a bit closer than we thought. Help us sense the Holy Spirit that is always with us ; keeping the pathway clear and directing us to turn right or left of even stand still. The next door will open at Your command but while we’re in the hallway…we will praise you.

  1. This was very enlightening. Although we may feel that GOD does not hear our prayer, we have to continue to believe in him for he has not forsaken us. When in a new season, GOD wiill take care of us but in his own time. We just have to be prepared to step out on faith.

  2. Thank you, Robin. Wonderful teaching. Praise be to God. He is loyal, worthy, and my Savior.
